Troubleshooting
Start with the visible symptom and use the narrowest setting that can fix it.
Zymorph asks me to connect a model
Open Settings → Model providers and either sign in with a supported subscription or add your own provider API key.
If a provider appears connected but no models show, reopen the picker and clear any search/provider filter. If it remains empty, sign out under Model providers, sign in again, and retry.
A request says I have no credits or quota
This comes from the selected model provider.
- Check the model name in the composer.
- Open the provider’s account and review credit, billing, and usage limits.
- Add credit, raise the limit, or choose another connected model.
- Select Try again only after fixing the provider issue.
Zymorph cannot change third-party billing. With BYOK, charges go to the account that issued the key.
The app is paused or could not start
- Select Start app when the preview says it is paused.
- Select Try again when the preview says it could not start.
- Open Settings → App controls and select Restart if the message returns.
If the status remains Crashed, export support information and reopen Zymorph.
Zymorph is stuck on Starting or Updating
Wait a few minutes for a large change. If there is no progress:
- select Stop if a request is still running;
- open App controls and select Restart;
- try the app before resending the request;
- resend a smaller, focused change.
Stopping does not guarantee that already completed edits are undone.
A connected feature says access is unavailable
Open Settings → Connections.
- Add or choose the required account.
- Select Reconnect if the session expired.
- Review the listed operations if connection details changed.
- Confirm that the app—not only the device account—has a grant.
For Google Drive browser sign-in, return to Connections and use Add account or Reconnect.
The app cannot read or save a local file
Open Settings → App controls and check Folder access.
- The folder must be explicitly listed.
- Read-only access cannot save changes.
- If the folder moved, remove and add it again.
- Restart the app after changing a grant if the app does not recognize it.
A private key is missing
Open Settings → Connections and look for Keys requested by this app. Enter the key there. Do not paste it into the conversation.
A model-provider key belongs in Model providers, not this section.
A change made the app worse
Try these in order:
- describe the observed problem and ask Zymorph to correct it;
- restore the previous design if the problem began with a design change;
- restore a source version if only source should move back; or
- restore a Recovery point if source and durable app data must return together.
Read Recovery and source versions before restoring.
Recovery is paused
Check the message under Automatic Recovery.
- Free device space if host space is low.
- Increase the Recovery storage limit if the configured limit is full.
- Reopen Zymorph if Recovery is unavailable rather than merely paused.
Report a bug
Select Report a bug beside Settings, or Report this issue on an error message. You can also use Help → Report a bug… in the desktop menu or search for Report a bug in the command palette. In Zen mode, select Show controls to reveal the top bar.
Describe what you were trying to do and what happened. Add a Reply email only if you’d like the team to reply.
Zymorph automatically attaches a filtered diagnostic support file with app/system information, the event timeline, failure status, exit codes, and stack locations. Recognized secrets and email addresses are removed. Raw app/command output, response bodies, generated-app error text, and the app name are excluded. Workspace IDs and technical paths may remain. Without an active workspace, the attachment contains app/system version information only.
Select Review report to see your message, reply address, technical summary, and the exact support file before sending. Back to report returns to the editable form. Reviewing does not upload anything. Full diagnostic exports remain available separately in Settings if support asks for them; inspect those before sharing. Select Send report to send your description, optional reply email, and support file directly to Zymorph support. No mail application is required on macOS, Windows, or Linux. Report received and a reference number confirm that the service saved the report. The reporting service keeps reports for 30 days; support email copies may remain longer.
If receipt cannot be confirmed, select Retry. It sends the same submission without creating a second report. Its original contents stay fixed until receipt is confirmed or you explicitly discard the draft. Discarding a draft cannot withdraw a report the service already received. Drafts and uncertain submissions are saved using protected system storage when available; the dialog warns if recovery is available only until the app closes. Nothing is sent automatically on restart.
If the service is unavailable, Copy report lets you paste the text into an email to Zymorph support, and Export support file… saves the attachment for manual email.
Export support information
Go to Settings → App controls → Support information and select Export…. Save the file somewhere you can find, then send it to Zymorph support only when requested.
If you want to remove stored support history afterward, select Clear. This does not clear conversations, app data, or Recovery points.
Still blocked
Write down:
- the visible error message;
- the action immediately before it;
- the current app status;
- the selected model/provider when relevant;
- whether Restart changed the result.
Contact support and include the exported support file only if requested.
